Description

Yiola Marcou of the Bank of Cyprus Oncology Centre presented the latest advances in early breast cancer, highlighting improved outcomes with endocrine therapy and the growing role of targeted treatments and antibody-drug conjugates in high-risk subtypes, as well as promising research on circulating tumour DNA for earlier detection of relapse.
Gynecologist and Obstetrician Georgios Marios Makris addressed the crucial role of gynaecological care, from managing treatment-related menopausal and sexual health effects to fertility preservation strategies and risk-reducing surgery for BRCA mutation carriers.
Together, their sessions underscored the importance of multidisciplinary, personalised care - supporting not only survival, but also long-term quality of life and reproductive health for breast cancer patients.
