Description
The 15th European Breast Cancer Conference, held in Barcelona from 25 to 27 March 2026, brought together more than 1,450 participants, 126 speakers and representatives from 81 countries. As a full co-organising partner, Europa Donna hosted patient advocacy sessions on artificial intelligence, risk factors and prevention, and breast cancer at every age, exploring advances in screening, treatment, policy, communication and equitable access to care.

Mireille Broeders
Mireille Broeders is Professor of Personalized Cancer Screening at Radboud University Medical Center, the Netherlands. Her research focuses on breast cancer screening, including the long-term benefits and harms of screening and the implementation of risk-based screening approaches. She is a member of the European Commission Initiative on Breast Cancer Working Group.
Sandra Caldeira
Sandra is the Head of the Disease Prevention Unit at the European Commission's Joint Research Centre.
Her team teases out the science in the areas of public health with a focus on non-communicable diseases for better and healthier policies in the EU. She holds degrees in Microbiology and in Biotechnology as well as a PhD in Biomedical Sciences.

Prof. Hans Wildiers is a medical oncologist at University Hospitals Leuven, Belgium, specialising in breast cancer and geriatric oncology. He is President of the Breast International Group (BIG) and and former President of the International Society of Geriatric Oncology (SIOG). He has authored over 400 peer-reviewed publications.
